Wesley Minchew, Sr., age 70, of McGehee, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2016 at St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock. He was born July 19, 1945 at Neal Settlement, near Halley Arkansas to the late Thurman and Etheline (Petty) Minchew.

He was a retired, self-employed farmer and avid outdoorsman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother Robert Minchew; two sisters, Diane (Minchew) Posey and Barbara (Minchew) Peacock; one son, Russell Minchew; granddaughter, Brittni (Minchew) Briant.

Survivors include his ex-wife, Rita (Garrison) Minchew of McGehee; one son, Wes Minchew and his wife Debbi of Monticello; six grandchildren, Derek, Kristin, Alex, Chandler, Andrew, and Noah; twelve great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, July 9, 2016 at McArthur Cemetery, Desha County, Arkansas with Rev. Ricky Rauls officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Arkansas Children’s Hospital where Wesley was a patient as an infant.
